Doctors Cave Beach.

Doctors Cave BeachDoctors is located in Montego-Bay.
As you come in to land at Donald Sanster airport, this will be the beach you will see from your aeroplane. We were struck by how blue the sea is. This beach frequented by tourists and Jamaicans alike. I went to this beach years ago and from what I can remember it has watersports, Glass bottom boats, a snack bar and a bar and there is an entrance fee to pay.

Bluefields.

BluefieldsWe went to Bluefields and spent the day at the beach. Bluefields is located to the south west of Westmorland on the A2 coast road, between Savanna-La-Mar and Whitehouse. The beach itself is not very wide and it is just yards from the roadside There are street vendors dotted about on the roadside from whom we could purchase food and refreshments. We saw fishermen out at sea catching fish, which they would sell onto the street vendors. We based our self near a small boat which was converted into a bar and a vendor who served up grilled fish with rice and peas.
The sea is a bit weedy and we could wade out quite a way before our feet no longer touched the bottom
Whilst we were there we did not see any tourists on the beach (whether its like that now I don't know) but we did see a coach pull up packed with tourists.
They got off the coach and swam for ½ hour and got back on and drove off.

Bluefields, at the time, was a nice quiet place to relax and unwind.

Westmoreland.

WestmorelandI have been to Jamaica several times as I have relatives living there and most of my time is spent has been spent here.
My relatives live in Berkshire, a few miles uphill from a small german town called Seaford Town, in the parish of Westmoreland. Where they live is quite hilly and some of the roads are bad, but we could see for miles and miles. As we were quite high up in the hills, in the mornings we would watch the dawn mist as it slowly cleared to reveal the houses and the scenery below, you had a feeling of tranquility.
Where my relatives live, the people there are polite, they would greet us even though we had never met them before. Dawn in Westmoreland
Most people in Westmoreland are poor (as well as most of population of the island), there is no social security. They make their living by growing food and raising livestock which they can then sell, or by doing oddjobs and helping others cultivate their land. Others look towards the Montego-Bay and Kingston for employment.
